Sherpa - A Basecamp Companion App Reviews

I tried almost all apps for basecamp. Including outpost and insight. And i must tell you that 21st is exciting age to live! You can get something for free which is better than non-free alternative, or at least on par. Sherpa allows you to do something what outpost and insight do not allow: 1) post messages to people 2) call ppl from inside the app 3) create milestones I give 4 stars but not 5 now because I want to see: 1) more stability 2) iPad version

Kept getting a connection error of some kind.

Ive only had it for a day but so far it does what I need.

The many negative reviews had me worried, but since its free, I thought I couldnt go wrong. This is actually a very nice app that mostly works very well. But there are still some bugs and some missing functionality. Annoying bug: App crashes when attempting to enter "Milestone" screen if there is no milestone. (Wont happen if you tap on "Milestone" first) Missing functionality example: Can create new task, but cant enter a due date. The key concern here is that this app appears to be dead. No update in over 8 months and the last forum entry 43 weeks ago. Too bad. With very little aditional work, this could have turned into something worth paying for.

It looks nice, but it cant connect to basecamp as far as I can tell.

Free or not, an application launched to the public should have the most basic features stable and working. Every time I go to save a new Todo item, the app crashes. I will continue to use Safari browser on the phone.

Hey this wonderful app needs a fix badly. Whenever you drill down into selecting a responsible user for a milestone or a category for message, the app immediately crashes on iOS 5. Obviously you dont want to have to crash, so fix that… But at least make it so that it is not required to select a responsible person for milestone or a category for message. Basecamp doesnt require you to specify one, why should Sherpa? Amazing app though. I still can use it for comments.

This is the first review I have ever written thats how really terrible this app is. There is no exception handling whats so ever so if you can eventually get to the page you want, if you click any buttons it exits. Dont waste your time.

When attempting to post a message Im forced to select a meaningless category and then the app crashes. Every time.

This app used to work but no longer, now i can see items in the todo list but cant see any details or information all i see is the list and how many items are in the list, when you go into the list its empty. They need to fix the app, till then keep away, far far away from it.

Id love to keep using this, but since our team migrated to the new Basecamp, it just isnt an option any longer.

Pretty useless.

Works only with Basecamp Classic. Decent UI. Cant beat the price, but will look for something more full featured.

Cant get past the setup screen. Keeps saying URL is invalid. Great concept, horrible execution.

Why so hard to set up a new account? Make it easier and maybe Ill use it
